Major League Soccer's San Jose Earthquakes announced Friday midfielder Simon Dawkins will miss the next four to eight weeks after undergoing successful bilateral fasciotomies surgery Thursday.
Dawkins missed last Saturday's game against the Philadelphia Union with compartment syndrome in both calves, a dangerous condition that restricts the flow of blood.
Dawkins was loaned to San Jose from Tottenham in the English Premier League March 16 and has scored a goal in two games this season -- April 2 at home against the Seattle Sounders and April 9 at Toronto FC.
