Cougars, Blue Star Play To Draw At Concordia University

Host Orange County Blue Star and the BYU Cougars played to a 1-1 draw Sunday in USL Premier Development League play at Concordia University.

Adrian Avila opened the scoring for Orange County off a Phil Da Silva assist in the 70th minute, but Blue Star player Pat Machett gave the Cougars a goal seven minutes later by scoring into his own net.

The Blue Star are 2-0-1 with seven points and tied for second place in the Western Conference - Southwest Division with Ventura County Fusion (same), who host Orange County for a game Friday.

BYU is 0-1-1 with a point and is in a four-way tie for fifth in the division with the Ogden Outlaws (same), LA Blues 23 (0-2-1) and the Los Angeles Legends (0-3-1). The Cougars host the Fresno Fuego Friday.
