Nick Conklin assisted on Doug Boating's 79th minute goal, then had the game-wnning unassisted goal in the 87th minute as host Fredericksburg Hotspur came from behind to defeat the Northern Virginia Royals 2-1 in USL Premier Development League play at the University of Mary Washington.
Northern Virginia scored first in the 11th minute as Myles McGinley fed a pass to Vic Freeman.
The Hotspur is 1-2-0 with three points and tied for fourth place in the Eastern Conference's South Atlantic Division with the Virginia Beach Piranhas (same record).
Northern Virginia is 0-3-0 and is in last place in the division.
Both teams meet again next Sunday at Fairfax High School.
