The host Boston Breakers and the Philadelphia Independence played to a 1-1 draw Sunday in Women's Professional Soccer action from Harvard University.
Tasha Kai celebrated her birthday Sunday but gave the Independence the gift in the form on a 44th minute unassisted goal, but, three minutes into the second half, the Breakers knotted the game for good as Keelin Winters assisted Lauren Cheney on a goal.
The Independence are 2-1-2 with eight points and are tied for second in the league standings with magicJack FC (3-1-0, eight, penalized one point for league infractions). Philadelphia will host the league-leading Western New York Flash this Sunday.
Boston, at 2-4-1 with seven points and alone in fourth place in the standings, travel to Sky Blue FC's Yurcak Field at Rutgers University in Piscataway, NJ this Saturday.
