The Atlanta Beat traded a first and second round 2012 draft pick to the best team in Women's Professional Soccer, the expansion Western New York Flash, Thursday in return for defender Julianne Sitch and midfielder Kelly Parker.
Sitch was the 32nd overall pick in the 2009 WPS Draft by eventual champion Sky Blue after graduating from DePaul University. She started 11 of 16 games for Sky Blue, then was traded to the Chicago Red Stars, where she started in three of 13 games. Sitch suffered an injury to an anterior cruciate ligament in mid-August 2010.
Parker, a Canadian, played collegiately at UTEP and was a teammate of Sitch at Sky, started 12 of 17 games in 2009. She then joined the Buffalo Flash of the USL W-League last season and was a part of their 2010 W-League Championship team.
