Battery Ends Kickers' Season-Opening Unbeaten Streak At Blackbaud

After Matthew Delicate needed less than a minute to score the opening unassisted goal of the game for the visiting Richmond Kickers, Dane Kelly fired one of his own in the 26th minute to tie the score at 1-1 and Nicholas Paterson assisted on the game-winning goal of Jon Gruenewald in the 86th minute as the host Charleston Battery ended the Kickers' seven-game unbeaten streak in USL PRO at Blackbaud Stadium.

The Battery are now 4-4-2 with 14 points and is in fourth place in the American Division standings. They will next host the Harrisburg City Islanders Saturday.

Richmond, now 6-1-1 with 19 points, is in second place in the same division and is two points behind Orlando City Soccer Club (6-1-2, 20) for the division lead. Both team face off Wednesday at the Florida Citrus Bowl.
