Will Bates had a pair of goals, Brian Span had a goal and an assist and Matt Hedges added a goal as Reading United AC defeated the host Westchester Flames 4-1 Wednesday in USL Premier Development League play at City Park Stadium in Westchester, NY.
Jake Keegan prevented the game from becoming a shutout with his unassisted 83rd minute goal for the Flames.
Reading leads the Eastern Conference's Mid-Atlantic Diviison at 3-0-0 with nine points and will host the Ocean City Nor'Easters Friday.
Westchester is 1-2-0 with three points and tied with the Jersey Express (1-0-0) for third place in the conference. The Flames welcome the Brooklyn Knights to City Park Stadium May 28.
