Bates Brace Blasts Send United To Rout Of Nor'Easters

Will Bates scored two goals, Brian Ownby had a goal and an assist and Stephen Okai stroked a shot into the back of the net as host Reading United AC beat the Ocean City Nor'Easters 4-1 in USL Premier Development League play Friday at Oley Valley High School Stadium.

Jack Bailey's goal for Ocean City prevented a shutout from taking place.

Reading leads the Eastern Conference's Mid-Atlantic Division at 4-0-0 with 12 points and will travel to the Bermuda Hogges next Friday.

Ocean City (0-1-0) is in a four-way tie for last place in the division with the Central Jersey Spartans (same), the New Jersey Rangers (0-2-0), who they host Saturday, and the Brooklyn Knights (0-3-0).
