Arikian Leads Rough Riders To Home Victory Over Spartans

Ben Arikian assisted on a Keith Detelj goal in the 42nd minute, then added an unassisted goal five minutes into the second half to lead the host Long Island Rough Riders to a 2-1 victory over the Central Jersey Spartans in USL Premier Development League action from Cy Donnelly Stadium.

Brayan Martinez scored an unassisted goal for the Spartans.

Long Island, at 3-0-0 with nine points, is tied for the lead in the Eastern Conference's Mid-Atlantic Division with Reading United AC (same) and will host the Jersey Express this Saturday.

Central Jersey lost their season opener and are tied for last place in the division with the Brooklyn Knights (0-0-0), who they host this Sunday, and the New Jersey Rangers (0-2-0).
