The North American Soccer League announced Monday Carolina RailHawks forward Etienne Barbara and FC Edmonton goalkeeper Lance Parker were named the Week 6 Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week, respectively.
For Barbara, he adds another honor to his ever-growing list of 2011 season awards.
He wins the OPOTW award for the second straight week and third time this season after scoring a combined three goals and an assist over two wins last week -- a 4-2 win over the Fort Lauderdale Strikers last Wednesday and a 2-1 win Saturday over the Montreal Impact.
Barbara has scored in all seven RailHawks games this season and leads the league in goals (nine) and points (20). He also was named April's Player of the Month.
