FC Dallas midfielder David Ferreira, who is Major League Soccer's defending Most Valuable Player after having eight goals and 13 assists last season, was named Monday the league's Player of the Week after scoring two of his team's three goals in a shutout of the defending league champion Colorado Rapids Friday at Pizza Hut Park in Frisco, TX.
The game was a rematch of the 2010 MLS Cup championship game.
