Major League Soccer announced Friday New York Red Bulls forward Juan Aguedelo was the runaway winner of Week 6 fan voting in the AT&T Goal of the Week competition and Los Angeles Galaxy goalkeeper Donovan Ricketts saw one of his nominated saves win him the Save of the Week award.
Agudelo's goal was the last scored in a 4-0 rout of DC United last Thursday at RFK Stadium and earned over 65 percent of the tallied votes.
He is also the first person to win the award twice this season, having done so in the first week of the season.
Ricketts' honor came from an 80th minute save of a potential Kenny Cooper goal in a 3-0 win over the Portland Timbers last Saturday at The Home Depot Center, getting 28.44 percent of the vote to prevent New York's Bouna Coundoul from creating a team sweep of the weekly awards. Coundoul finished second with 25.24 percent of the vote.
Ricketts, who had two saves nominated this week, earned 16.76 percent of the vote, good for fourth place, on his other one.
