Chris Pontius and Charlie Davies scored goals in the first ten minutes of the game and, on Pontius' second goal, got help from Fred as DC United shut out host Toronto FC 3-0 Saturday in Major League Soccer action Saturday from BMO Field in Toronto.
Davies scored his fifth goal of the season unassisted in the tenth minute.
United is in fourth place in the Eastern Conference standings at 2-2-1 with seven points and will host the New York Red Bulls this Thursday.
Toronto is 1-2-3 with six points and are tied with the New England Revolution for fifth place in the same conference and will welcome the Columbus Crew next Saturday.
