At the team's inaugural media day Wednesday at the Florida Citrus Bowl, Orlando City Soccer Club owner and president Phil Rawlins announced the team will welcome Newcastle United to town July 23 for an exhibition game at the stadium, which will officially serve as home for their 12 USL PRO regular season games this season.
The team, formerly the Austin Aztex, also announced Bright House Sports Network will carry five home games this season, beginning June 2 against the Charlotte Eagles.
Three of the other four games will be June 29 against Sevilla Puerto Rico, July 8 against the Dayton Dutch Lions and August 12 against the Harrisburg City Islanders. The fifth date will be announced at a later date.
The franchise is also working with BHSN to air an undetermined number of road games this season.
