Monterrey Wins CONCACAF Champions League Title Over Real Salt Lake; Ends RSL's 37-Game Home Unbeaten Streak

For the first time since May 2009, Major League Soccer's Real Salt Lake lost a game at home as Humberto Suazo scored six seconds into first-half stoppage time to give Monterrey a 1-0 win at Rio Tinto Stadium in Sandy, UT and claimed the 2010-11 CONCACAF Champions League title with a 3-2 aggregate win.

It is the sixth straight time a Mexican team has won a CONCACAF title, the 27th overall time the country has done so, and the eighth time in the last ten regional title opportunities.

With the victory, Monterrey earns a spot as the CONCACAF representative to FIFA's Club World Cup tournament this December in Japan.

RSL has now ended a 37-game winning streak at home over all competitions, but now returns to MLS play this Saturday when they travel to the expansion Portland Timbers' JELD-WEN Field.
