MLS Hands Out Punishments For Seattle's Carrasco, Galaxy's Kirovski

Major League Soccer's Disciplinary Committee announced Friday Seattle Sounders midfielder Servando Carrasco has been suspended for this Saturday's game against the Philadelphia Union and fined $500 for a reckless charge on Chicago Fire forward Patrick Nyarko in the 90th minute of their game last Saturday  that the committee deemed meant to bring harm to him.

Also, the committee extended the suspension and increased the fine for Los Angeles Galaxy midfielder Jovan Kirovski for verbally abusing a referee last Saturday against DC United.

Kirovski was already assessed a red card for the incident, which carries an automatic $250 fine and one-game suspension, and missed Wednesday's game against Toronto FC, but will now miss Sunday's game against the Fire and pay a $1,000 fine,
