MLS Disciplinary Committee Rescinds Ejection Of SKC's Collin

Major League Soccer's Disciplinary Committee Wednesday rescinded a straight red card given by referee Edvin Jurisevic to Sporting Kansas City player Aurelien Collin during Saturday's game against the New England Revolution at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, MA.

Collin was given the red card, which causes ejection from the game and an automatic $250 fine and one-game suspension, by referee Edvin Jurisevic following an incident that began after he collided with Revolution goalkeeper Matt Reis while challenging for a corner kick with both of them hitting the pitch hard.

Players from both teams came out to check on their teammates and, in a scrum, New England's Benny Feilhaber, making his first appearance for his new team after joining MLS, was knocked down by Collin and teammate Boris Diop, causing Jurisevic to pull the red card.

The Disciplinary Committee, which reviews all MLS game footage to determine if any penalties were missed or issued improperly by officials, among other duties, stated Collin is now eligible to play for New England this Saturday when they travel to The Home Depot Center in Carson, CA to play Chivas USA and that Diop would receive no punishment from the committee for his actions.
