Rajko Lekic's first career Major League Soccer goal, assisted in the 83rd minute by Zac Boggs, gave the New England Revolution a 3-2 victory over Sporting Kansas City in Major League Soccer play Saturday at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, MA.
US Men's National Team star Benny Feilhaber made his first appearance in an MLS game since the Revolution claimed his rights via an allocation draft and assisted on Marko Perovic's goal in the 12th minute and Shalrie Joseph scored in the 72nd minute off a Kenny Mansally assist.
Kei Kamara scored goals in the 14th minute off a Teal Bunbury assist and in an unassisted manner in the 69th minute for Kansas City, who is halfway through a league-record 10-game road trip while finishing touches are made to LIVESTRONG Park, their new home.
New England is 2-2-3 with nine points and are tied with the Houston Dynamo and Columbus Crew, both at 2-1-3, for third place in the Eastern Conference standings. The Revolution are at Chivas USA next Saturday.
Sporting Kansas City sports the worst record in MLS and the Eastern Conference at 1-3-1 with four points and travels to the New York Red Bulls next Saturday.
