The Los Angeles Blues of USL PRO announced the signing Thursday of veteran player Edwin Miranda.
Born in El Salvador, Miranda grew up in the San Fernando Valley and played collegiately at Cal State-Northridge.
He was later drafted by the Dallas Burn (now FC Dallas) in the 2004 Major League Soccer SuperDraft and has played for teams in the former USL First Division (Portland Timbers, Puerto Rico Islanders and Miami FC Blues), the current USL Premier Development League (the Hollywood United Hitmen, who are now in the National Premier Soccer League), and the USSF Division 2 Pro League (the Islanders, who won the league's only championship in 2010).
The Blues open their 2011 USL PRO campaign next Friday against Sevilla Puerto Rico, then will have the home opener May 1 at Titan Stadium at Cal State Fullerton against Antigua Barracuda FC.
