Kansas Magic, who will join the Professional Arena Soccer League as a 2011-12 expansion team, announced Tuesday they have signed defender Nick Garcia and goalkeeper Tim Baum to their roster for an upcoming exhibition game April 30 at the Kansas Expocentre against the Illinois Piasa.
Garcia played 11 seasons in Major League Soccer, eight of them with the Kansas City Wizards, where he played in 224 regular season and all 23 playoff games.
He began in MLS with the revived San Jose Earthquakes in 2008, then was traded to Toronto FC in June 2009, where he stayed until being cut after the 2010 season.
Garcia is ranked in the league's all-time top ten for most games started and minutes played.
