In a sure sign of if-you-can't-beat-'em-join-'em mentality, the Puerto Rico Islanders of the North American Soccer League announced the signing Friday of former Carolina RailHawks and Guyanese native Gregory Richardson.
Richardson played for the RailHawks in USL First Division and the USSF Division 2 Pro League, where they finished as the runner-up to the lone league champion Islanders in 2010.
The Islanders travel to Al Lang Stadium in St. Petersburg Sunday to face FC Tampa Bay.
