Thierry Henry scored two goals in the 12th and 38th minute and teamed with Rafael Marquez on Joel Lindpere's 76th minute goal as the New York Red Bulls shut out DC United 4-0 Thursday at RFK Stadium in Washington, DC for their third straight win of the 2011 Major League Soccer season and putting them on top of the Eastern Conference standings at 3-1-2 with 11 points, one ahead of the Philadelphia Union (3-1-1, 10).
Jan Gunnar Solli and Dane Richards assisted on both of Henry's goals and Solli had a third assist on the night as he teamed with Mhedi Ballouchy to help Juan Aguedelo make a second-half stoppage time goal.
The Red Bulls will host Sporting Kansas City next Saturday at Red Bull Arena in Harrison, NJ.
United, 2-3-1 with seven points and in sole possession of fifth place in the Eastern Conference standings, will travel to the Houston Dynamo next Friday.
