The Ottawa Fury of the USL W-League announced Wednesday they have re-signed Tina Ramagnulo, Casey Ramirez, Alyssa Lagonia and Shay Eskridge for the 2011 season.
Ramagnulo, in her third season in Ottawa, had three goals last season and has 25 over her first two seasons. She came to the Fury after two seasons at Syracuse University, where she has 13 goals and an assist for 27 points in 38 career games with the Orange and was named each season to the All-Big East Second Team and led the team in goals and points.
Ramirez, Ramagnulo's teammate with the Orange, has started all 57 games over three seasons and has two goals and three assists over that period, spending her 2008 season as a midfielder, then moving to defender in 2009.
Lagonia led the Laurier Golden Hawks to the 2010 Canadian Interuniversity Sport National Championship game, where they lost 1-0 to Queen's. In three seasons at Laurier, she has led them to a 27-8-7 record, has been named three times to the Ontario University Association's First Team All-Star team and was a CIS All-Canadian and CIS Tournament All-Star in 2010. She played 10 games for Ottawa last season.
Eskridge, who plays midfield at Graceland University in Lamoni, PA, was named to the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics' First Team All-Conference team in 2010 after leading them to a 15-1-3 record. She has scored 17 goals and 34 assists for 68 points in 81 career games. Eskridge played three games for Ottawa in 2010.
The Fury open their 2011 W-League season May 28 and 29 when they play the Rochester Ravens and the Hamilton FC Rage, respectively. Their home opener will be June 3 against the Ravens.
