Emilio Renteria's 49th minute goal, assisted by Sebastian Miranda, forced a 1-1 draw between the visiting Columbus Crew and host Toronto FC Saturday in a Major League Soccer fixture at BMO Field.
The draw kept Toronto FC winless in 12 games in the Trillium Cup series between the two teams at 0-5-7.
Toronto took the opening lead and ended a new-Crew team record 413-minute shutout streak when Julian de Guzman and Alan Gordon assisted Tony Tchnai scored a goal in the 41st minute, then would be ejected from the game for leaving the field to celebrate the goal with fans in the stands.
The Crew are 2-1-3 with nine points and are in third place in the Eastern Conference standings. They will host the Vancouver Whitecaps at Crew Stadium next Saturday.
Toronto is 1-2-4 with seven points and tied with DC United (2-3-1) for fifth place in the same conference. They will travel to Xbox Pitch at Qwest Field next Saturday to play the Seattle Sounders.
