Eduardo Coudet had a game-winning penalty kick in the final minute of regulation play as the Fort Lauderdale Strikers edged the Atlants Silverbacks 2-1 Saturday in North American Soccer League play at Atlanta Silverbacks Park.
Martin Nunez put the Strikers up 1-0 in the 14th minute off an Aaron Wheeler assist, but Atlanta scored two minutes later on an unassisted Mario Perez goal.
Fort Lauderdale (1-1-1, four points) shares second place in the league standings with FC Tampa Bay (same record) and the NSC Minnesota Stars (1-0-1). The Strikers will travel to the Puerto Rico Islanders this Friday.
Atlanta has the league's worst record at 0-3-0 and will play at FC Tampa Bay next Saturday.
