Capitals Sign Queree, Ross, Wood, Krigbaum

The Baton Rouge Capitals of the USL Premier Development League announced the signings Tuesday of defenders James Queree, Mark Ross, Kyle Wood and Tim Krigbaum.

The team lost Scott Gordon to FC Dallas of Major League Soccer, who selected him 53rd overall in the 2011 SuperDraft; former USL PDL Defender of the Year Joe Gait to the Dayton Dutch Lions of USL PRO, and saw Chris Williams and Ricky Vargas not return for the 2011 season.

Queree plays for Xavier University.

Ross spent a season at Rio Grande University before returning to his native England to pursue playing there and was with the New Orleans Jesters in the 2009 PDL season.

Wood comes to Baton Rouge from Fort Lewis College, where he will be reunited with teammate Tom Settle.

At Fort Lewis, he was a two-time Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference First Team pick in 2008 and 2010, a two-time preseason All-RMAC pick in 2009 and 2010, the Most Outstanding Player in the 2009 NCAA Division II Mens' Soccer Final Four, a member of the RMAC All-Academic Honor Roll in 2009, the Most Valuable Player of the 2008 RMAC Tournament,and a two-time RMAC All-Tournament Team selection in 2008 and 2010.

Krigbaum was a multiple time First Team All-American and regional player of the year while at Manhattan College.
