In the 33rd minute, Leonardo scored the game's only goal, thanks to a David Beckham free kick, as the Los Angeles Galaxy, the defending Major League Soccer Western Conference and Supporters Shield champion, shut out the Philadelphia Union Saturday 1-0 at The Home Depot Center.
The Galaxy, who also have the best record in the league so far at 2-1-1 with seven points, travel to RFK Stadium this Saturday to play the rejuvenated DC United, last season's worst team.
Philadelphia still leads the Eastern Conference with a 2-1-0 record and five points, one point better than the New York Red Bulls, who they host Saturday at PPL Park in Chester, PA.
