Beat Signs Wake Forest Midfielder D'Agostino

The Atlanta Beat of Women's Professional Soccer announced the signing Wednesday of former Wake Forest midfielder Bianca D'Agostino after she was released by the Philadelphia Independence, who selected her with the 18th overall pick in the 2011 draft.

D'Agostino played in two preseason games with the Beat before being signed.

She spent her freshman college season at Penn State, posting an assist in nine starts, before transferring to Wake Forest, where she had seven goals and 17 assists in three seasons, starting all but five games, and also earning a call-up to the US Women's U-23 National Team.
