Women's Professional Soccer announced Tuesday their 2011 season playoff format will remain unchanged from how it started two years ago.
Of the seven teams in the league for 2011, including the new Western New York Flash, the top four teams at the end of the regular season will advance to the playoffs.
The regular season champion will earn a bye to the WPS Championship presented by Citi, which they will host August 27.
The second-place team will earn a bye to the WPS Super Semifinal, which they will host August 20.
The third- and fourth-place teams will meet at the third-place team August 17 or 18 to play a First Round playoff game, with the winner advancing to the Super Semifinal.
