Major League Soccer's Philadelphia Union announced the signings Friday of midfielder Keon Daniel and Gabriel Farfan and forward Levi Houapeu.
Daniel scored four goals for Trinidad & Tobago's national team, known as the Soca Warriors, in qualifying matches for the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa, then joined the Islanders in June, scoring two goals and two assists as Puerto Rico won the only championship title in the USSF Division 2 Pro League.
With his national team, he scored eight goals in 46 games since his debut in January 2008.
He turned pro in August 2006 with United Petrotin in the Trinidad & Tobago Pro League after having a training sting in the English Premier League with Manchester United.
In 2008, he trialed with West Ham United in the EPL, but chose to play for Caledonia AIA at home in May 2009.
Farfan, the twin brother of another Union midfielder, Michael, played for a year in Mexico with Club America after being a Second Team All-Big West Conference player at Cal State-Fullerton, and was with Union assisting coach John Hackworth at the US U-17 Residency Program in Bradenton, FL.
Houapeu was the team's third pick in the 2011 MLS SuperDraft out of the University of Maryland-Baltimore County, where he was the 2010 America East Conference Forward of the Year with 15 goals and four assists in 20 games. He also had a combined 30 goals and 17 points for the team in 2009 and 2010, leading the nation in overall points.
Houapeu played in the 2010 USL Premier Development League for the Union's affiliae, Reading Union AC, and scored two goals and an assist.
