Sky Blue FC of Women's Professional Soccer announced the signing Thursday of former Rutgers Scarlet Knights goalkeeper and two-time team captain Erin Guthrie, who played last season for now-defunct FC Gold Pride.
Guthrie left Rutgers as their all-time leader in shutouts with 44.
In 2009, she was named the Big East Conference Goalkeeper of the Year, won her second All-Conference selection and was a finalist for the Missouri Athletic Club's Hermann Trophy, which is annually awarded to the outstanding men's and women's college soccer players.
Between college seasons, Guthrie played for Sky Blue's predecessor, Jersey Sky Blue, in the USL W-League.
