The Atlanta Silverbacks of the North American Soccer League announced Tuesday they will play a three-game preseason schedule featuring two home games and games against opponents with ties to current midfielder Jordan Davis.
Atlanta opens the preseason slate March 23 at Silverbacks Park against the Southern Polytechnic State University Hornets of the National Association for Intercollegiate Athletics at 4:30 p.m. local time.
The Hornets finished the 2010 Southern States Athletic Conference season with an undefeated record.
The Silverbacks will then travel to Decatur, GA March 26 to play Georgia State University, where Davis wore the captain's armband in his 2005 senior season, at 4 p.m. local time, then return to Atlanta for a March 30 game at 4:30 p.m. local time against NCAA Division II school Clayton State University, where Davis has been an assistant coach since 2009 and won a conference championship in 2010.
