Real Salt Lake Moves One Leg Closer To CCL Final

Alvaro Saborio scored in the ninth minute off an Andy Williams assist and Fabian Espindola hit an insurance goal in the 56th minute as Real Salt Lake, the first Major League Soccer franchise to reach the semifinal round of the CONCACAF Champions League tournament, shut out Costa Rica's Deportivo Saprissa 2-0 in the first leg of their series Tuesday at Rio Tinto Stadium in Sandy, UT.

RSL has not lost in their last 35 games at home and are the third MLS team to beat Saprissa in 15 tries.

The loss snapped a six-game overall winning streak and a four-game CCL streak.

With the second leg of the series set for April 5 in Costa Rica, RSL prepares to open their MLS regular season Saturday on the road against the San Jose Earthquakes.
