Orlando City Names Machado Goalkeepers Coach

The Orlando City Soccer Club of USL PRO named Marcus Machado as the team's goalkeeping coach Monday.

He is currently serving in that position for Florida's Olympic Development Program and is the technical director for the Floirda Rush youth soccer program.

Machado began his playing career in 1971 in his native Brazil for Sport Recife, becoming the youngest to make the senior roster in 1973.

In 1987, he moved to Europe to play for Rio Ave SC, then returned to the States in 1997 to play for the USL First Division's Orlando Sun Dogs, before ending his playing career in 2000 for the USL Premier Development League's Central Florida Kraze.

In 2004, he held a similar goalkeepers coaching position with the Ajax Orlando Prosepcts in the USL PDL.
