Desperately in need of a goalkeeper after Steve Cronin was placed on the disabled list following a fractured wrist suffered in the opening days of preseason training in Fort Lauderdale, FL, Major League Soccer's DC United announced the signing on now-unretired goalkeeper/assistant coach Pat Onstad to a short-term playing contract Wednesday.
Onstad announced his retirement at the end of the 2010 MLS season with the Houston Dynamo after a 24-year career that saw him play for teams in the US, Canada and Scotland.
