Major League Soccer announced the five nominees for Week 1 of the AT&T Goal of the Week competition for the 2011 season.
Each week, from all the goals scored, five players will be selected as nominees for the outstanding goal of the week, with fans casting votes at www.mlssoccer.com to determine the winner, who moves into consideration for AT&T Goal of the Year honors, also selected by fans.
Voting for this week's award takes place through 11:59 p.m. Thursday.
Here are this week's nominees:
Juninho - Los Angeles Galaxy
Scored lone goal in the 58th minute of 1-0 win over the Seattle Sounders March 15.
Maicon Santos - Toronto FC
Scored unassisted goal in the 74th minute of 4-2 loss to the Vancouver Whitecaps Saturday
Juan Agudelo - New York Red Bulls
Scored lone goal in the 70th minute of 1-0 win over the Seattle Sounders Saturday.
Milton Rodriguez - FC Dallas
Scored game-tying goal in 18th minute as FC Dallas and Chicago Fire played to 1-1 draw Saturday.
Jamie Smith - Colorado Rapids
Scored unassisted goal in 30th minute of 3-1 victory over Portland Timbers Saturday.
