Javier Morales had two goals and teamed with Paulo Araujo, Jr. on Andy Williams' opening point in the second minute as Real Salt Lake defeated the defending Major League Soccer Supporters' Shield champion Los Angeles Galaxy 4-1 Saturday at Rio Tinto Stadium in Sandy, UT.
Following Williams' goal, Morales scored in the tenth minute on a penalty kick and later scored in the 41st minute off a Chris Wingert feed.
Araujo put RSL up 3-0 in the 68th minute with a goal assisted by Fabien Espindola.
The 2009 MLS champion Salt Lake are 2-0-0 with six points and have next weekend off before facing the New England Revolution on the road April 9.
Juan Pablo Angel scored Los Angeles' goal with an assist from David Beckham in the 80th minute and the Galaxy are now 1-1-1 with four points and host the Philadelphia Union this Saturday.
