Islanders Sign Goalkeeper Burse To Contract

The Puerto Rico Islanders of USL PRO signed goalkeeper Ray Burse to a contract for the 2011 season Tuesday after he spent time in preseason camp with Major League Soccer's Columbus Crew.

Drafted in the third round of the 2006 MLS SuperDraft by FC Dallas, he played mostly on their Reserve Division team before making his MLS debut in 2007 in a 1-0 win over the Colorado Rapids.

In 2008, Dallas loaned him for 10 games to the Portland Timbers of USL First Division, where he had six shutouts before being returned.
