Harrison Re-settles With City Islanders For 2011

The Harrisburg City Islanders of USL PRO announced Wednesday they have brought back goalkeeper Chase Harrison for the 2011 season after being bounced around many teams in USL and Major League Soccer in 2010.

After signing with Crystal Palace Baltimore of the USSF Division 2 Pro League, he was loaned to the Richmond Kickers, where he started two games and had five saves. In September 2010, Harrison was signed by MLS' DC United to back up starter Troy Perkins, then, in October 2010, joined the Columbus Crew for their MLS Cup playoff run.

He played collegiately at Virginia Tech for four seasons, appearing in 79 matches, recording 24 shutouts with a 1.12 goals against average and played summers in the USL Premier Development League for the West Virginia Chaos.

He would then be drafted 26th overall in the 2006 MLS Supplemental Draft by Real Salt Lake, who would loan him to the Virginia Beach Mariners of the USL First Division before RSL released him after two games there.

In 2007, he stayed in USL-1 with the Rochester Rhinos, starting 18 games, recording three shutouts and posting a 1.15 goals against average with an 8-6-4 record and 84 saves.

During the 2008 Rhinos season, he was traded to the Portland Timbers, where he went 1-0-5, gave up nine goals and had a 1.76 goals against average in six starts.

Moving to Harrisburg in 2009, he started 16 games and had an 8-4-4 record, a .812 goals against average and ten shutouts, earning 2009 USL Second Division GAA Champion and All-League Second Team honors after allowing 13 goals and saving 54 shots.
