Hammerheads Welcome Back Noviello, Murray; Sign Ex-Fusion Star Scope

The Wilmington Hammerheads of USL PRO re-signed Jyler Noviello and Chris Murray and added defender Jamie Scope from the Ventura County Fusion of the USL Premier Development League Monday.

Noviello played 33 games in 2010 and had eight goals and five assists. In 2009, he was named a USL Second Division Player of the Week and scored the game-winning goal that gave them that season's regular season title.

At West Virginia, he led the Mountaineers to a 9-0-1 Big East Conference record in 2006 and had the game-winning goal in the conference championship game.

Noviello came to Wilmington in 2008 after playing for the Atlanta Silverbacks of the USL Premier Development League, where he led the team in goals and points.

Murray, the Hammerheads' Rookie of the Year after the 2008 season, played for UNC-Wilmington and was an all-Colonial Athletic Association pick in his junior and senior seasons.

Scope played collegiately for University of the Incarnate Word in San Antonio, TX from 2006 to 2010, where he was team captain for two seasons and led the Cardinals to three straight conference championships from 2006 to 2008.

He also played in the USL PDL for the Austin Aztex and Bakersfield Brigade.
