FC New York of USL PRO announced the signings Tuesday of four former St. John's University Red Storm players to their inaugural roster -- Derby Carillo, Kyle Hoffer, David Reed and Tadeu Terra.
Carillo, a goalkeeper, came to St. John's after transferring from Cal State-Dominguez Hills. He signed a contract in 2010 with Major League Soccer's Seattle Sounders.
Hoffer was Rockland County (NY) Player of the Year in 2006 and also came to St. John's after playing at State University of New York-Oneonta, where he was named Rookie of the Year.
Reed started all 25 games for St. John's last season and led a defensive unit to a school-record and NCAA-leading 16 shutouts. He was an All-State player at Paramus (NJ) Catholic High School.
Terra, a native of Rio de Janiero, Brazil, played in his country for Instituto Abel before coming to the Red Storm. As a sophomore, he was named to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America's All-Northeast Region team and was a second team All-Big East Conference player as a junior.
