Major League Soccer's San Jose Earthquakes announced Monday they have reached corporate sponsorship deals for the 2011 season with 7up Bottling Company, a division of Dr. Pepper Snapple, and Farmers Insurance.
The bottline company's beverages, inclduing Snapple ice teas and Deja Blue Water, will be the official drinks at all Earthquakes home games at Buck Shaw Stadium at the University of Santa Clara. They will also be allowed to set up beverage sampling displays inside the stadium and will be part of the Epicenter Fan Zone at certain home game dates.
Earthquakes players, local celebrities and team staff will also take part in an A&W Root Beer float day to benefit a local charity at a date and time to be announced in which they will serve fans the tasty treats.
7up has also earned the right to use the team's trademark on promotional materials throughout the Bay Area and will be able to set up in-store promotions for fans to enter and win prizes such as signed jerseys or special seating at games.
Farmers will also have the same authority to use the team's trademark in their advertising efforts and will have signage at all home games, radio advertisements played during all 34 Spanish-language broadcasts this season and ad space in the team's program.
They will also offer a Team Magnet Schedule Night during the season, which will include exclusive advertising rights for the night and the placement of an interactive booth in their Fan Zone.
