Davies Dazzles In Debut For DC

Former US National Team member Charlie Davies, on a comeback after being involved in a horrific car accident in October 2009, had a brace to lead DC United, last year's worst team in Major League Soccer, to a 3-1 victory over the Columbus Crew Saturday at RFK Stadium.

United took a 3-0 lead on Josh Wolff's 51st minute score and Davies' goals in the 63rd and 77th minute.

Columbus' lone goal came two minutes after Davies' second point on a Robbie Rogers penalty kick.

United travels to Gillette Stadium next Saturday to face the New England Revolution, while the Crew takes on the New York Red Bulls in their home season opener from Crew Stadium next Sunday.
