Vahid Assadpour had a six-point night on an unassisted three-point goal, a two-point goal assisted by Byron Alvarez and an assist on a a two-point shot by Carlos Olivas as the host Missouri Comets beat the Milwaukee Wave 11-5 Wednesday in Game 1 of the 2011 Major Indoor Soccer League Semifinal Series from Independence Events Center in Independence, MO.
Alvarez also scored a goal and Tiguinho added a two-pointer as the Comets take a 1-0 lead in the two-game series, which moves to Milwaukee's US Cellular Arena Sunday.
Jonathan Santos had a three-pointer for Milwaukee, assisted by Hewerton Moreira, and Marco Terminesi added a two-pointer.
If the Wave win Sunday's game, a 15-minute mini-game will be played to break the tie. If the score of the mini-game is tied at the end, 15-minute "golden goal" periods will be played until there is a winner.
That winner will face the 2010-11 regular season champion Baltimore Blast in the one-game MISL Championship Game March 25 at First Mariner Arena in Baltimore.
