The Missouri Comets of the Major Indoor Soccer League announced prior to Sunday's home game with the Chicago Riot they released forward Levi Coleman from his contract so that he may rejoin the Charleston Battery of USL PRO in time for the final two games of their annual Carolina Challenge Cup tournament in Charleston, SC.
Coleman led the Battery to the last USL Second Division Championship before it and its First Division merged to form USL PRO.
Coleman, signed 11 days before the team's first game on November 12, broke his leg in practice a few days later and wound up playing four games after rehabbing the injury but scored no points.
Foward Anthony Maher, recently signed from the last-place Riot, took over Coleman's roster spot.
