Chivas Trades Gordon To Toronto For LaBrocca; Declines Option On Padilla's Contract

Major League Soccer's Chivas USA announced Friday they traded forward Alan Gordon, who played one season for them after being traded to them by the Los Angeles Galaxy, to Toronto FC in exchange for midfielder Nick LaBrocca, and they have declined the 2011 option on the contract of forward Jesus Padilla.

LaBrocca, who will join the team in Texas for Saturday's exhibition finale against FC Dallas, started 81 of 89 games over his previous four seasons between Toronto FC and the Colorado Rapids, scoring five goals and six assists.

Gordon had a goal and three assists in nine games with Chivas, eight of which he started. In 99 career MLS games, he has 16 goals and 12 assists.

Padilla, who played one and a half seasons after joining Chivas on loan from the parent club, Chivas de Guadalajara, August 17, 2009, had five goals and two assists in 34 appearances in all competitions. He had six goals in 26 games, 14 of them starts, last season, finishing second on the team in that category.
