Head coach Bob Bradley announced Wednesday a 24-man US National Team roster that will begin training camp Sunday in Cary, NC in advance of upcoming international friendlies against Argentina March 26 at New Meadowlands Stadium in East Rutherford, NJ and against Paraguay at LP Field in Nashville March 29.
These will be the US' final games before competing in the 2011 CONCACAF Gold Cup, where they will be vying for their fifth tournament title and a spot in the field for the 2013 FIFA Confederations Cup in Brazil.
The US is 2-6-1 versus Argentina, who are ranked fourth in the world in the most recent FIFA/Coca-Cola World Rankings.
Their two wins came in 1995 in a 1-0 victory at the group stage of the Copa America tournament and in 1999 in a 1-0 win at a friendly at RFK Stadium in Washington, DC.
The two teams last met in 2008 at the former Giants Stadium, which ended in a scoreless draw.
The US last played at New Meadowlands in August 2010 against Brazil.
Versus Paraguay, the US are 2-1-2 lifetime, beating them 3-0 in the 1930 FIFA World Cup and 2-0 in Columbus, OH in July 2003.
These two teams last met at the 2007 Copa America tournament in Venezuela, where they lost 3-1 in Barinas.
The last time the USMNT played at LP Field, they defeated Trinidad & Tobago 3-0 in a first round 2010 FIFA World Cup qualifier Appril 1, 2009, with Jozy Altidore becoming the youngest player in team history to score a hat trick.
The US-Argentina game will air on ESPN2 and Univision at 7 p.m. Eastern time, with the US-Paraguay match airing at 8 p.m. Eastern on Fox Soccer Channel and Telefutura.
