The Charleston Battery of USL PRO announced the signings Wednesday of midfielder Dane Kelly and midfielder Evan Taylor, who last played in the Jamaican Pro League and took part in the Battery's games during last week's Carolina Challenge Cup, where, despite having their best finish in second place this year, failed to win the four-team preseason tournament.
Kelly played for Tivoli Gardens in the JPL and led the league in scoring last season with 15 goals.
He scored the first goal for the Battery in their CCC opener last Wednesday against Toronto FC of Major League Soccer, then drew the penalty that led to the game-winning goal.
Taylor, who played for Reno FC, has played 10 times for the country's national team.
