The Charleston Battery of USL PRO and the Puerto Rico Islanders of the North American Soccer League will close out their respective preseason schedules next Tuesday when they face off in a free exhibition game at Blackbaud Stadium in Charleston, SC.
The Battery were the last team to win the USL Second Division, as they and the USL First Division merged to become USL PRO.
Meanwhile, the Islanders, formerly in USL-1, were the champion of the 2010 US Soccer Federation's Division 2 Pro League, created by the federation when neither USL-1 nor the North American Soccer League met certification requirements to be stand-alone Second Division leagues for last season.
The last time these teams played each other was June 25, 2009 as Randi Patterson scored the lone goal in a Battery win.
