After scoring 13 points in two games last weekend, the most ever by a player in league history, Missouri Comets forward Byron Alvarez was named the Major Indoor Soccer League's Player of the Week for Week 16 of the 2010-11 season Monday.
Alvarez also leads the league this season in hat tricks and game-winning goals with four each.
Friday, in an 11-6 win at the Independence Events Center in Independence, MO against the Omaha Vipers, Alvarez got his fourth hat trick of the season, then followed it up Sunday in a 23-7 rout of the Chicago Riot in Villa Park, IL with a three-point goal, a two-pointer and two assists.
